Diptychs
I’ve been going through my entire take from an essay I worked on about mountain top removal mining in West Virginia. I was starting to get frustrated with the edit and decided to start messing around with a few pairings. I’m hoping to get a few more finished before adding these to the website. This is what I have so far…

Photo Philanthropy Website
PhotoPhilanthropy is an organization created to promote, support and connect photographers to charitable organizations around the world.
Photo Philanthropy is hosting a photography contest for work produced in collaboration with a non-profit organization. It’s a really great way to showcase the amazing work being done by photographers and NGO’s. As they’re mission statement says, “We champion social change, one photo at a time.” Click on the photo below to check out their website!
“A Place to Call Home” featured on Multimedia Muse
Multimedia Muse, a great photographic resource that “believe(s) in creating a greater corporate news demand for online photojournalism,” posted a link to my homeless families project back in June. Now that I’m redesigning my blog I wanted to repost the link and encourage people to check out the site and the amazing pieces showcased there.
Hope is on the Horizon
This is a multimedia project I worked on with Dustin Franz at Ohio University. He was documenting the Horizon program, a faith-based program at the Marion Correctional Institution in Marion, OH, so we teamed up to shoot and edit this multimedia piece for our Audio/Video class.
Horizon is a “collaboration between the Department of Corrections and the faith community,” says Jeff Hunsaker, who serves as the Horizon program coordinator at Marion Correctional. The program works by infecting a negative environment with positive elements by encouraging core values such as spirituality, accountability and mutual respect.
Every year, 48 men serving time at the medium-security prison are selected for the 10-month program. The applicants must practice a recognized faith and have a spiritual advisor. Faiths currently practiced in the program include Wiccan and Native American religions as well as the Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths.
A Place to Call Home – Website
Here is the link to the website for my most recent project “A Place to Call Home” about homeless families in Louisville, KY. Advocates for the homeless believe the foreclosure crises, failing economy and rising unemployment are causing more two-parent families to seek out assistance from local shelters.
This Blog is Under Construction!
I’m currently working on redesigning my blog so I apologize for the general emptiness of the site. I will be reloading some of the original content and hopefully adding new content asap. Check back again soon!
